TAFE NSW’S ‘Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy’ nominated as a finalist in the 2009 National Drug and Alcohol Awards
TAFE NSW’s Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy has been recognised as a finalist in the 2009 National Drug and Alcohol Award for Excellence in Prevention and Community Education.
The other finalists are FebFast and Family Drug Support’s Stepping Stones for Success program.
The judging panel, chaired by Dr Yvonne Bonomo, believe the field this year was the strongest ever. “The richness and diversity of the candidates was superb. They are always of a high standard but if these three finalists are anything to go by, Australia can be confident of a comprehensive approach to prevention in the future. There is some great work going on in this sector,” Dr Bonomo says.
The Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy has been recognised for the TAFE NSW’s initiative to strengthen the organisation’s capacity to respond to alcohol and other drug issues. The Strategy has developed TAFE NSW Institute’s alcohol and other drug health promotion projects.
The Australian Drug Foundation is a strong supporter of TAFE NSW’s Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy and recognises its contribution to the community in the areas of alcohol and drug prevention and education.
